Florence + the Machine

The Ellen Show

Creative Direction

For Florence + the Machine’s performance of Ship To Wreck on the Ellen DeGeneres Show we wanted to create a studio set as fluid in movement as Florence Welch herself.

Process & Planning

Instead of a traditional stage, we created an ankle-deep pool of water for Florence to perform in. She began as a still reflection and moved into bold splashes as the song’s most powerful notes struck. With directional lighting the water glistened and the pool lost its edges, creating an organic and infinite environment.
